Blue Communication, which is conducting Arduino children's coding education with IT Chosun, participated in "Maker Faire Seoul 2016" and introduced various toys and games that can be made into coding education.
Maker Faire Seoul 2016 is an event where consumers can meet handmade creative products at one location and will be held at Seoul Innovation Park located in Tongil-ro, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, for two days from October 15 to 16, 2016. The "Maker Faire," a festival of "MAKER," which means people who make what they need on their own, was held for the fifth time in Seoul alone this year.
More than 120 "Maker" teams participated in the event in the form of booths to introduce DIY projects made by themselves on the main stage. In addition, various additional events such as "Google Hack Fair," which displays DIY projects using Google products, and "The 3rd Drone Fight Club," which competes for drone control skills of players from each country, as well as various seminars, workshops, maker flea markets, and maker shed.
"Maker Faire, a family-centered event, is a place where people show each other what they have made and share what they have learned in making something themselves," a Maker Faire Seoul 2016 event official said, "It will be a place for not only makers but also families to enjoy and communicate."
Jung Hee-yong, CEO of Blue Communication, said, "Logical thinking is naturally developed in the process of children assembling bulbs, sensors, and motors, understanding the principles of various devices, and moving devices through coding." and emphasized the importance of Arduino coding education, saying, “Coding education is a valuable education that broadens one's logical thinking and view of the world."
Meanwhile, Blue Communication's software education team and Chosun Media Group's IT Chosun, an information and communication technology (ICT) media, completed the first Arduino Children's Coding Education for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders and are inviting applications for the 2nd one. The 2nd 'Arduino Children's Coding Education' will be held every Saturday (1:00 pm - 4:00 pm) from October 29th to November 19th at the IT Chosun Connection Intelligence Center (Taesung Building, Gwanghwamun) four times in total.
