Software (SW) coding education specialist, Blue Communication, announced the successful conclusion of the SW Coding Camp '2018 DSM Unity Camp' on the 11th. The camp was held from December 5th to 7th at Daejeon Youth Training Village.

The DSM Unity Camp was hosted by Daejeon Software Meister High School and organized by Blue Communication. The event was designed to enhance key future competencies in students, including creative thinking, collaborative problem-solving skills, computational thinking, and communication.

The camp covered six different themes, including robot control, autonomous driving cars, and physical computing makers' projects.

In particular, the robot control, autonomous driving cars, and physical computing maker projects utilized the educational programs and tools from Blue Communication's educational brand, AsomeIT.

In the robot control project, participants assembled the bipedal walking robot AsomeBot. They engaged in a mission project to navigate a maze using programming to achieve the fastest and most accurate passage. The autonomous driving car project involved creating a 4-wheel vehicle called AsomeCar, customizing software and appearance to autonomously drive through a virtual urban course safely and effectively.

During the physical computing maker session, participants experienced various sensors that can be applied in real life through AsomeKit. They also utilized each sensor and Python code to realize their own ideas.

Additionally, in the Internet of Things (IoT) real-life creation project, students utilized C language and Arduino to create practical software technologies that can be applied in real life. In the mechatronics defense project, they engaged in remote control activities by creating military equipment.

Ahn Hee-myung, Principal of Daejeon Software Meister High School, stated, "To enhance students' project-solving abilities, all students gathered in one place and conducted group-based projects that they had chosen. Through active discussions, students collaborated, enhancing their problem-solving skills and creativity," explaining the purpose and outcome of the event.
